Jasmin Samy is a Partner at the Washington for International Development Consultancy firm in Seattle. In 2018, she leveraged her passion for sports, particularly Squash, which she played at a national level in Egypt, to become a sports entrepreneur. Identifying gaps in sports coaching and training, Jasmin, a seasoned project manager, founded a company to manage sports academies and events. This venture marked her as the first woman entrepreneur in sports in Egypt, and she partnered with world-renowned Squash Coach Emad Kouritam. Their company manages Shadow Squash Academy in Cairo, one of the largest squash academies with over 18 courts across four branches and more than 100 employees. The academy trains over 400 players, many of whom have achieved top 10 rankings worldwide. In 2021, she expanded her ventures by launching Shadow Padel, offering five new Padel courts in Cairo and expanding club management services. Jasmin's goals extend beyond investment in Egypt; she aims to empower other women entrepreneurs to enter diverse fields like sports. She is a certified Entrepreneur Mentor and actively supports women and youth in their business journeys. She shares business tips, answers questions, and supports aspiring entrepreneurs through her Instagram page, all free of charge. Her significant contributions have earned her numerous accolades, including "Top 50 Most Influential Women in 2023-Egypt," "Most Influential Woman" in 2022 by Women Narrative Summit, and "Women of the Year" by the Law Magazine. She's a frequent speaker at career events, forums, and TV programs, sharing her experiences. Jasmin holds a Master of Laws from Indiana University and was a TEDx speaker at the University of Washington. She is a wife and mother of two, splitting her time between Seattle, Cairo, and Dubai.
