Jasmin Samy

Jasmin Samy is a Partner at the Washington for International Development Consultancy firm, based in Seattle. In 2018, she decided to add to her passion of sports entrepreneurship, specifically Squash which she played as a junior and reached to win the Egypt’s National Tournaments.

 

Jasmin’s keen connection with the sports circuit led her to identify gaps in present offerings at clubs and the private sector in terms of coaching and training. Building upon her experience as a seasoned project manager, Jasmin decided to start a company which manages sports academies and events, being the first women entrepreneur in sports and partnering with world renowned Squash Coach Emad Kouritam. The company manages one of the largest Squash Academies in Cairo - Shadow Squash Academy is a leading center for training squash, mental coaching, and squash fitness. Shadow Squash Academy currently manages over 18 courts in four branches and employing over 100 employees. The academy has over 400 players of all ages and playing on the local and international levels with many reaching top 10 worldwide. In 2021, Shadow Padel was born to serve Padel lovers with five new courts in the middle of Cairo in addition to expanding management of clubs. The academies work to assist the players across spectrums, spanning beginners, professionals, young and old in achieving their goals. With these goals in mind, the Academies are pursuing growth across other governorates and establish partnerships with affiliated academies in the US.

 

One of Jasmin’s main goals was not only to invest in Egypt but to also open the door for other women entrepreneurs to invest and penetrate different fields such as of sports. With that, she was certified as an Entrepreneur Mentor and has supported many women and youth in their journey in the business world. To share her experience and knowledge with all, Jasmin started an Instagram page where she shares business tips and answers questions, while supporting women and others to break in the field of entrepreneurship, all free of charge.

 

Ms. Samy has also been recognized by many and has been awarded “Top 50 Most Influential Women in 2023-Egypt”, “Most Influential Woman” in 2022 by Women Narrative Summit, “Women of the Year” by the Law Magazine and more and has been invited on many occasions to speak about her experience at Career days, Forums, and TV programs such as DMC, Radio Shows, Career Summit, and others.

 

Wife and a mother of two, Jasmin holds a Master of Laws from Indiana University and was a TEDx speaker at University of Washington. She spends her time shuttling between Seattle, Cairo, Dubai amongst other destinations.
